Plectranthus
is the perfect shade plant that gives plenty of bold and bright
coloring for the landscape.
Mona Lavender Plectranthus
loves filtered sun to shade. It prefers a moist soil and provides
plenty of non- stop purple blooms against gorgeous dark green
foliage. Use a time release fertilizer and water when dry. Mona
Lavender may be damaged by frosts and freezes but will come back
if protected by mulching around the base of the plant. Otherwise,
take cuttings before the frost and you will be rewarded with a
new plant. Encourage a compact growth habit by periodically trimming
the tips of new shoots. Remove old flower heads as the blooms
decline. This is a colorful new plant for container gardens to
display at entrances, on patios and as a balcony or porch display.
Also use as a bedding plant for annual or perennial gardens to
provide colorful fall foliage and flowers. More than 6-inch-long
spikes of lavender blossoms open throughout the growing season.
