Jatropha podagrica is commonly known as Buddha or Gout Plant. It is very easy to care for and likes full sun to part shade. Let it dry out between watering. It flowers year round with bright coral-red flowers and attracts hummingbirds and butterflies. The first few days I had this plant I spotted my first hummingbird! The leaves may drop during frost but the plant will look exotic with its belly and flowers. People have told me they have witnessed an 8 foot Buddha.
