Globba Winitii:dancing
lady
The foliage of dancing
lady grows to about 2 feet with long, lance shaped leaves on short
stems. The plants will show groups of shiny leaves but the real
attraction to this plant are the flowers. The inflorescence hangs
down and consists of showy purple , white, or yellow bracts with
tiny flowers that seem to dance in the air. Globba will bloom
July through fall until it becomes dormant. Grow in well-drained,
fertile, organic soil. Give full shade but it can take early
dappled morning sun if you are able to provide plenty of water.
Globba will grow well in a container or in the ground. Under a
large Oak tree is ideal!
