Firespike does well in full sun and partial shade. Use a well-drained soil and keep moist. Once established it is very drought tolerant but don't let the plant go more than 2-3 weeks without water. Firespike is popular to butterflies and hummingbirds and is one of few red tubular flowers to bloom in the autumn through late summer. It can grow to 6 feet if left untouched and is very easy to control.
